Hey Chicks!
Hope you all had a fab weekend! Our 21 days of tips are almost over *sniff, sniff*, but don’t worry – I still have loads of info and ideas to share with you for a long time to come!
Today I wanted to talk to you all about juicing. I know I have said before not to drink your calories – but the exception when you make fresh juices at home with a juicer (not mixing up a can of orange concentrate with water). Juicing fruits and veggies is a fabulous way to get in tons of nutrition, and since I am off the caffeine, I find that a fresh juice (like the apple, carrot, spinach juice I had this morning) just perks me right up!
You can get a juicer pretty cheap. Try craigslist or kijiji, or you can even find an inexpensive new one for around 40 bucks. Sure, you can spend hundreds of bucks on one, but best to know if it’s something you will use longterm before investing in one. Some health food stores even rent them out, so check around!
Most people like sweet juices, so adding apples and carrots to juice are a great way for beginner’s to start. Cucumbers and celery are also great because they are very watery and mild in taste. Eventually, you can add more greens for ultimate nutrition. I love to experiment with whatever fruits and veggies I have on hand. I have made a few nasty ones I wouldn’t do again, but most times I am happy with the results. There are tons of books on juicing, and it’s so easy to find juice recipes online.
Have a great night, Chicks and I will be back tomorrow with the last tip. Happy juicing!
Sis 🙂
