Day 17 – Cut Back on the Alcohol

Sorry I have been MIA for the past couple of days. But I’m back and there are only 4 more days of healthy habits to share with you!

Today we’re going to talk about cutting back on the alcoholic bevvies. It’s really counterproductive to be eating healthfully and exercising all week, and then going out for drinks Thursday, Friday and Saturday night. Not only are alcoholic drinks loaded with sugar and calories, but they also can slower your metabolism AND reduce your willpower. Excessive consumption of it can also have you searching for “rehab near me” to get your body detoxified. It’s pretty hard to have a few drinks and just snack on raw veggies! If you think you’re spiralling out of control, you could contact a drug addiction delray beach centre.

If you absolutely MUST drink, try to stick to just martinitwice a week, and only two drinks maximum. Space your drinks out with water or plain soda with lemon or lime. The best choices for lower cal drinks are hard liquor with soda, flavoured vodka with soda, light beer and glasses of wine. Steer clear of margarita’s, frozen drinks, juices, shooters, cider, and basically anything with a cute, fancy name 🙂

For me, it’s hard to limit myself, so what works best for me is just avoiding the alcohol all together and sticking to soda water. Or having some vino at home, since then there is only one bottle to share and I can’t over indulge!
