Hey Chicks,
Happy Monday! Halloween is just around the corner and we have been asking our Mama Chicks over in our our coop some ideas to help make this Halloween a little bit healthier. Let’s be real…do you remember when you were a kid and you used to get the little boxes of raisins or fruit? Do you remember just how disappointed you were?
Halloween should be a time of fun and make believe but with childhood obesity, diabetes in kids and food allergies / intolerances on the rise, giving out candy and treats is really just doing more harm than good.
So what can you do? Get creative and give out some fun and fabulous non food related halloween treats! Here are some ideas that we got from a great website called http://www.motherearthnews.com/ as well as from our Mama Chicks!
Non Food Related Healthy Halloween Ideas for Kids
Themed bouncy balls (c’mon, everyone loves a good bouncy ball)
Stickers
Spider rings
Bubbles (apparently you can find black and orange ones these days)
Pencils
Fake tattoos
Skipping ropes (get your wee ones active!)
Halloween shaped erasers
Change (clean out your piggy bank, kids love change!)
Check out the Doller Stores in your area for cheap buys! And there wont be any waste as whatever you dont give out this year, you can always use for next (we love it!)
Do you have any non food related halloween suggestions?
Have a fab day,
FIT CHICKS XO
PS Don’t forget – our next indoor bootcamp starts on November 7th and is available for online registration 🙂
