So the last long weekend of summer is quickly approaching – OMG how time flies!
For me this long weekend usually means time with the family back home in Perth, getting one last jet ski ride in and of course the annual Perth Fair! This fair is a small town event for sure with about 3 rides, 10 games, a barnyard where they give out prizes to the fattest chickens and pigs and of course the big night is the demolition derby. Really it is a bunch of silly roosters in their muscle cars enclosed by a wall of tires and hay playing real life bumper cars to see who will be the last jalopy running.
This night is my dad’s favorite night I think of the year lol so we always go as a family and watch while being tempted to eat the deep fried mars bars and cotton candy.
So how do I manage to stay away from all the sweet seduction of the county fair – I keep this list of calorie sins in mind to keep my waistline in check.
Top 5 County Fair Sinners!!
1. Pound of Fudge – a pound is a pound no matter what way you look at it – top sinner for sure!! Just say NO!
2. Funnel Cake comes in at a whopping 760 calories
3. Mini Donuts – just a bite size each and for a dozen of them you are looking at 440 calories
4. Cotton candy – just a one once servings is 110 calories and I am sure at the fair you are not weighing out that one once LOL
5.Caramel Apple coming in at about 360 calories that is almost 5 times what a regular apple would be and not to mention all that sugar will make your blood level sky rocket!
So you are probably thinking well what do I have then if I want to indulge a bit? My suggestion is to try and choose the lowest calorie option and perhaps find a buddy to share with.
Knowledge is power so just go into it knowing what you are about to get out of it and the rest is up to you chicks but remember the sweat and 100% effort you will need to give at bootcamp just to work off just that one funnel cake!!
