Happy Wednesday!
This week, we have closed our FIT CHICKS Bootcamp from Aug 1 – 5 in order to let our Chick Sergeants (and you!) a little summer break. That said, we will be back rested and rejuvenated for some new high intensity interval workouts to get you great fitness results on Aug 8th!
So what I have been up to this week off to enjoy summer?
1. Bikram Yoga. After our 100km Oxfam Trailwalker Race on July 22nd, I had been experiencing nasty shin splints. To give my body a chance to heal itself, I have been stretching up a storm everyday with the awesome Dana at Bikram Beaches. Good news – shin splints are gone as of yesterday!
2. The Island – If you live in Toronto and have not been to Toronto Island, then you are REALLY missing out! Just a $6.50 return ferry ride from Queens Quay, the island has 3 points (Ward’s, Centre Island and Hanlan’s Point). This summer it was my goal to check out all 3 (and now I have!) and it is such an amazing to escape the busy city to spend a chill day with your friends and family. This past weekend was Hanlan’s Point with Chief Chick Sergeant Jackie…oh and did I mention that beach is clothing optional?! No this chick kept her suit 🙂
3. Pedicure – Maybe not the best idea post Oxfam! Last year after the Oxfam Trailwalker, I lost almost all my toenails. This year, I was so pumped that it seemed I was going to be ok. I spoke too soon. I went to get a pedicure on my Fred Flintstone tootsies (and tipped EXTREMELY well) and 4 toenails were about to jump ship. He did everything to save them but I dont know how much longer they have. Lesson learned – be patient with your body after a long physically gruelling activity…especially for the sake of pink toenails!
Now I am feeling fab (except the toenails!) and am ready to teach to some kick butt Toronto bootcamp classes next week so I hope to see y’all there!
