Hey Chicks!
Happy Turkey Day! I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend celebrating with the fam. I am cooking up a storm here, so hopefully it all turns out as planned. I will take some pics of the yummy clean eats I am making to show you all!
I was thinking about today’s tip as I was preparing my bird, and I was nibbling on some pieces of dry bread (not even a yummy snack!) that I was using to make stuffing (yes, I gave in and stuffed the bird since bf wanted it!). I had to stop myself and think why am I eating this? And I threw the extra bread away.
Mindless munching can totally sabotage your eating plan, leading to a few extra hundred calories consumed each day. You probably don’t even realize you are doing it. A handful of candy at the office, a nibble off of your kid’s plate (I am terrible for doing this!), a bite, lick or taste while cooking….it all adds up and can ruin your healthy eating plan.
I think the best thing to do is acknowledge what you are doing. Keep a food diary for a week and be completely honest about everything going in. Don’t judge, just be honest. Then you can look at areas for improvement. I find having a piece of gum while cooking helps me avoid tasting everything, putting food away BEFORE dinner helps avoid picking at leftovers while I clean up, and throwing out your child’s meal when they are finished. Don’t worry about the waste, it’s no less wasted if it ends up on your thighs!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend, Chicks, and I will chat with you soon!
Sis 🙂
