Each month we celebrate a chick who embodies all things FIT CHICKS including fab fitness results, healthy changes in mind & body and  is inspiration to those around her (we are all warm and fuzzy!). This month, we are celebrating Bronwyn from our Ottawa Glebe location, who has lost 25 pounds and 29 inches  since she started in August 2010

FC – What made you decide to join FIT CHICKS?

Bronwyn: In the last couple of years some health issues have caused me to gain a lot of weight, which made me tired and sore all the time.  I tried extreme dieting, and lost and gained, and it was frustrating, and not very healthy.  In June 2010, my boyfriend proposed, and I wanted to get started on looking fabulous in my wedding gown.  Wanting to love my wedding pictures, but also, wanting my life back, I signed up for 8 weeks of boot camp.

FC- How did FIT CHICKS help you in reaching your fitness and weight loss goals?

Bronwyn: FIT CHICKS is still helping me reach my goals!  I’ve lost tons of inches and feel stronger all the time.  My first goal, way back in August 2010, was to make it up the 4 flights of stairs to my apartment without getting exhausted.  Not only can I do that, I can walk further, and bike longer, I have tons more energy, and I surprise myself every week by what I can do.  The atmosphere of the classes is really friendly, but also firm, my chick sergeant Jaz pushes me and I am amazed at what I can do every time.

FC – What is your fave FIT CHICKS workout? Which exercises do you love to hate?

I love tricep kickbacks.  They hurt, but I always feel like I’m really targeting the arm flab, and really toning and firming with each one.
I also love fire hydrants.  I may look silly doing them, but I can really feel the effects in my butt and thighs.

FC – What have your fitness and weight loss results been like since joining bootcamp?

Since joining bootcamp I have lost tons of fat and gained tons of muscle.  I can lift heavier things, run faster and jump higher, I have even improved my flexibility.  The best improvement has got to be my self-confidence.  I used to let my body hold me back, and now more and more I am trying new challenges.  I still have a ways to go losing inches and weight, but with bootcamp I feel like I can get the body I want and KEEP IT, and my progress is steady and encouraging.  I am also able to shop in regular stores again (not just plus size) and can’t wait to keep working every month to see my strength grow!

FC – Would you recommend FIT CHICKS Bootcamp to a girlfriend?

I would recommend bootcamp to a girlfriend, because it is a safe place to get started on taking your life back.  It takes really challenging workouts and makes them into something I want to do every week.  It is a minimal time commitment for HUGE results, and the confidence I’ve gained has spread into the rest of my life.  I had originally planned to only stick with bootcamp until my wedding, but I am going to keep it up for as long as I can.  I LOVE IT!
