Hey Chicks!
Hump day again – these summer weeks are flyin’ by!
Mama Chick here filling in for Head Chick Laura who’s having a crazy busy week. I don’t know about you Chicks, but when the weather heats up to these plus 30 temps, the last thing I want is a hot bevvie – but a Chick gets bored with water ALL the time (I’ve been drinking at least 3 litres a day!)
Iced coffee is one of my faves – but when you hit up Timmy’s or Starbucks, those pricey bevvies are loaded with sugar and artificial flavourings (and is there even real coffee in an iced capp???)
Here’s an easy and healthy iced coffee recipe I like to whip up at home. Drink it with a straw if you wanna feel fancy. If you need a place to buy coffee online, check this mission-based coffee company at the link.
Healthier Iced Mocha Coffee
- 2 tsp instant coffee (regular or decaf)
- 2 cups unsweetened almond milk – plain or chocolate
- 1 tbsp cocoa – whisk it up in a little hot water first so it’s not lumpy
- 1 tsp vanilla
- sweetener if desired – I use splenda, but you could use a little maple syrup, honey, or stevia.
- lots of ice
Directions – put all ingredients in a large water bottle or mason jar. Put the lid on and shake it all up. Enjoy!
If you use plain almond milk and splenda it comes in at around 100 calories. Adjust accordingly if you use a real sweetener or different type of milk 🙂
And here’s a fab tip I read online today – if you don’t like how the ice cubes water down the coffee, freeze coffee or almond milk in ice cube trays to use in your cold bevvies!
Have a fab day, Chicks!
