CHICK FEED – Yummy Baked Apples

Apples are in season and not only is it a great workout to go apple picking, there are so many delish versions to pick from!  Plus, you won’t need to buy air freshner as your house will smell fantastic.

HEALTHY BAKED APPLES 

Top this simple fall or winter dessert with a scoop of fat free greek yogurt or enjoy as is. 

Cook Time: 40 min

Ingredients:BAKED APPLES

  • 1/4 cup dried cranberries or raisins
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 4 Granny Smith apples

Preparation:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

In a small bowl, combine dried fruit, walnuts, sugar and cinnamon. Core each apple and place in a baking dish. Spoon one-fourth of the ingredients into each apple. Bake for 40 minutes or until apples are tender.
