Hey Chicks!!
–
I am a super bummed today! We have been so excited about launching our first 28 Day Pedometer Challenge on Sept 13th only to be struck with some probs with the peddy’s – darn technology! We would never launch a program unless we felt 100% that it would be a fab fitness experience for our chicks. So the bad news is we have had to postpone the challenge BUT the GREAT NEWS is that we are getting waaaaay better, upgraded pedometers and will launch with a bang on Monday, October 4th – yay! So, chicks you still have time to join in on the fun and sign up to step up a storm with us in October.
This situation actually brought up some interesting things for me personally. I always want everyone to be happy and don’t like negative feelings / situations (who does?!). More than anything, I can’t stand feeling like I am disappointing a friend/chick/family…pretty much anyone. We can never fully avoid negative situations – they are part of life- but the interesting part for me is how my body reacts when I don’t feel right about something.
–
In my life, I make a lot of my decisions based on my gut reaction (well except that I still sometimes cross reference with the Magic 8 Ball but that is an entirely different blog post!). I am pretty in tune with my feelings so when I don’t feel right about a situation or person – either personally of professionally- it is my bodies way of saying “Chick, open your eyes cuz this ain’t right!” To this point in my life, I can honestly say it has rarely steered me wrong and has kept me surrounded with amazing, supportive peeps and a business that I absolutely love.

I woke up the morning of the challenge feeling like I had a pit in my stomach. I had tested some peddy’s again that had been working and started getting wonky responses on them. Next thing you know, my body started going into the RED FLAG MODE which usually consists of the following:
1. Icky knot in my tummy
2. Prickly hot face
3. Skittish and eating mindlessly aka trying to get rid of the icky knot in my tummy
–
I did not want to cancel the challenge as I did not want to disappoint our chicks, but also LOVE the idea of this challenge sooo much that I did not want to chance any of our chicks potentially not getting the full experience. What to do?! No Magic 8 ball in sight so I called Mama J for a chat. She reconfirmed what I thought – be honest with your chicks and hold off until the new peddy’s arrive. As soon as she said it, I knew it was right and magically, all my reg flag mode systems disappeared! Our chicks are still pumped, we have awesome new pedometers en route and all in the land of FC is well – crisis averted!

Moral of the blog post? LISTEN TO YOUR GUT! There is actually a second “brain” in your tummy that is there to guide you. Sometimes it may not make sense or you may need a sounding board to chat through (Thanks, Mom!) but if your bod is telling you something – good or bad- DON’T IGNORE IT! It may not immediately make sense to you why your body is reacting this way but you have been given these feelings / reactions for a reason.
–
So chicks next time you feel a little twinge in your gut, take a sec and pay attention – it could save you a lot of time, stress, drama (or lead you on the path of your dreams and some sweet new pedometers!) in the future!
Stay tuned for more info on the 28 Day Pedometer Challenge!
