My Achey Breaky Booty

Hey Chicks!

I do not know what is wrong with my body the last week but I am feeling SORE!

As I am challenging myself to replace my caffeine addiction with all natural smoothies and juices (which even though I have cheated 3 times, I am doing pretty good!), I have also been getting back into my bikram yoga 3 times a week.  I am not sure if it is that I am opening up alot of muscles or the caffeine trying to leave my system but I literally feel like I have been hit with a truck!

For the last 7 days, everything just aches from head to toe – my neck, shoulders, booty, hamstrings ..even my eyes hurt! it feels like I have been doing intense weight training sessions when my workout regime for the last week has been teaching bootcamp, walking with my pedometer and yoga!

I had a little chat with my fabulous yoga teacher today, Richard, to try to get to the bottom of this and he told me that he thinks it is due to 3 things:

1. I have been holding emotions in my muscles and they are trying to come out (that could be why I broke out in tears during Camel pose)

2. I have been overtraining and my muscles are trying to regain their flexibility (so true – the only thing Gumbi about this chick right now is the green in the yoga top I wore today!)

3. I am not sleeping enough so my sore muscles are not having time to repair (guilty as charged – I am averaging 5 – 6 hours a night!)

So what am I going to do? Drink some chamomile tea, am heading to bed before 3am (I am a night owl!) and going to another yoga class tomorrow to see if the worst will be over. Keep ya posted on how it goes!
