10 a Day in May!

Hey Chicks!!

Summer is a comin’, and there tis the season for tons of fresh fruit and veggies! So here is the challenge, Chicks – get your intake close to 10 servings a day of vegetables and fruits. According to stats less than 50 percent of Canadian Chicks only get in the minimum of 5 servings a day, so we need to step it up!

Eating closer to ten a day will give you tons of vitamins and nutrients and definitely help with your weight loss goals since produce is high in fibre and low in calories so you can eat a TON of bulk without adding extra fat and calories to your diet.

This month I’ll be giving you lots recipes, tips and ideas to learn to love your produce!

First off, I’ll let you know what is considered a serving:

  • 1 medium piece of fruit
  • 1/2 cup fruit like berries, grapes of cut up melon
  • 1/2 cup cooked or raw veggies like broccoli or carrots
  • 1 cup of raw green leafies (make sure to include a few of these servings EVERY day!!)

Make a note of how much you are getting now, and we will work on increasing it so by the end of the month you are a 10 a day fruit and veggie lover!
