Day 9 – Cut Down on Eating Out

Hey Chicks!

I LOVE to eat out. I don’t get to do it much anymore though, with the lack of babysitters and the high cost of restaurant meals, it just doesn’t fit into my lifestyle right now. Actually, it’s a great thing as far as my weight goes since the average restaurant meal packs in over a thousand calories! I’m not saying not to eat out, it’s so much fun and a great social activity. However, unless you are prepared to be very careful about what you order and how much you eat in a restaurant, you probably should stick to eating out just a couple of meals a week. Keep in mind too, that a latte and muffin at the local coffee shop counts as a meal out too!

Try to reduce the number of times you eat out by making eating in fun! We do this at home, since as I said we don’t have a babysitter. I’ll look through my recipe books or online and plan a wonderful healthy meal, something I wouldn’t normally make. I don’t worry too much about the cost, since eating out generally costs two of us at least 50 dollars, and I can make a fantastic dinner for two (with leftovers and sometimes a bottle of vino) for under 30 bucks. I have lots of fun cooking, I find I enjoy the meal more, and I don’t have to tip!

So try staying in once a week with friends or family, or at the very least make some muffins at home and pack one with your travel mug of coffee to take with you! Your wallet, and your waistline will thank you!

Until tomorrow, Chicks! Sis 🙂
