I know how it is, you start off your day tired and pop into the local coffee shop for a quick pick-me-up, regular tea sound so BORING, so instead you indulge in a fancy milky, sugary, whipped creamy coffee drink. But do you really realize what you are pouring down the hatch? Drinking calories is a sure way to pack on the pounds. You won’t feel full, so you will end up overeating by the end of the day. Plus most drinks (coffee drinks, pop and juice) just contain sugar, caffeine or fat (and sometimes all three!)
Maybe you don’t THINK you drink your cals, but you may be surprised. I am a reformed tea addict. In my heydey I was up to about ten brews a day! Tea has no calories, right? WRONG! When I actually measured the innocent amount of skim milk I added to each cup, it totalled a litre a day! That’s right….A LITRE!!! Over 300 extra calories into my day that weren’t leaving me full or satisfied. It took a few weeks, but now I am a water and herbal tea drinker. If I can ditch my caloric bevvies, anyone can!
Stick to non-calorie options and limit the amount that contain artificial sweetener . Water, sparkling water, herbals teas and even an occasional black coffee are your best bets.
